FB has changed again & failed to let us know.

Take a look at your URL address (top box on your screen.) If you see "http" instead of "https" you DON'T have a secure session & can be HACKED. Go to Account - Account Settings - Account Security - click Change. Check Secure Browsing, click Save. FB has automatically set it on the non-secure setting!

Nuke-Evolution : Sony admits utter PSN failure: your personal data has been stolen
Nuke-Evolution

Sony has finally come clean about the "external intrusion" that has caused the company to take down the PlayStation Network service, and the news is almost as bad as it can possibly get. The hackers have all your personal information, although Sony is still unsure about whether your credit card data is safe. Everything else on file when it comes to your account is in the hands of the hackers.

In other words, Sony's security has failed in a spectacular fashion, and we're just now finding out about it. In both practical and PR terms, this is a worst-case scenario.

What did they get?

Here is the data that Sony is sure has been compromised if you have a PlayStation Network Account:

  • Your name

  • Your address (city, state, and zip)

  • Country

  • E-mail address

  • Birthday

  • PSN password and login name

"It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained," Sony announced. While the company claims that there is "no evidence" that credit card information has been compromised, it won't rule out the possibility.

Their advice is to be safe, rather than sorry. "If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained."

What can you do?

You are warned to keep watch over your accounts, and to be aware of your heightened risk of fraud due to the security breach. "For your security, we encourage you to be especially aware of e-mail, telephone, and postal mail scams that ask for personal or sensitive information," the company said. "Sony will not contact you in any way, including by email, asking for your credit card number, social security number or other personally identifiable information."

Sony has also provided a wealth of sources for data and protection against identity theft.

You may wish to visit the web site of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission at www.consumer.gov/idtheft or reach the FTC at 1-877-382-4357 or 600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20580 for further information about how to protect yourself from identity theft. Your state Attorney General may also have advice on preventing identity theft, and you should report instances of known or suspected identity theft to law enforcement, your State Attorney General, and the FTC. For North Carolina residents, the Attorney General can be contacted at 9001 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-9001; telephone (877) 566-7226; or www.ncdoj.gov. For Maryland residents, the Attorney General can be contacted at 200 St. Paul Place, 16th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202; telephone: (888) 743-0023; or www.oag.state.md.us.

To be fair, Sony does apologize for the inconvenience. There is still no update on when service will be restored, but that is the least of your concerns if you have a PlayStation Network account. It's time to change your passwords, at the very least, and if you're like to be completely safe it's not a bad idea to cancel your credit or debit cards and request replacements.

Games : March 25th
Games

As we reported only a few short days ago, First Strike is headed to PC on March 25th. Black Ops' first map pack offers up four brand new multiplayer maps and one brand new co-op map for Zombies.

So how can we celebrate the release of said map pack? Double XP, of course! Treyarch has been good enough to offer a Double XP weekend for Black Ops on PC.

The DLC can be pre-purchased on Steam, GameStop, Direct2Drive and from Activision, directly.

Double XP starts March 25th and should end in the early hours of March 28th, PST.

Games : Findmakarov.com Isn’t A Countdown To Modern Warfare 3 Read: Findmakarov.com Isn
Games

Last week, gaming blogs across the internet were set ablaze by a suspicious website, findmakarov.com, that was counting down to something that seemed to be Modern Warfare related. Naturally, the assumption was a Modern Warfare 3 reveal at GDC this week, but Geoff Keighley did some investigating and has found that the timer on findmakarov.com isn’t counting down to Modern Warfare 3.

Instead, Keighley says that the website belongs to We Can Pretend, an independent creative collective in Toronto, Canada, and apparently We Can Pretend is going to launch a short film based on Call of Duty on March 2nd. After his initial write-up, Keighley was given a still from the project (pictured above), which suggests that the film is based on Modern Warfare 2.

He says that Activision had no involvement in the launch of findmakarov.com, but it makes you wonder how they’re going to react now that the project has received so much attention.

Games : Modern Warfare 3 Reveal in Less Then One Week?
Games

Big news today for Call of Duty fans around the world. It looks like we're going to get our first taste of Modern Warfare 3, or at least a Modern Warfare based game in less than one week!

Media outlets around the web today began receiving bloody dogtags with the words, 'End the War' and 'FindMakarov.com' on them. The dogtags were marked with the name of the late General Shepherd of Modern Warfare 2 fame.

Upon visiting FindMakarov.com, you'll promptly notice one of two events. You'll either be greeted with a 'page not available' error due to the overwhelming strain on the sites server or you will be greeted with a glowing green countdown.

If you follow the countdown into the future, you'll find it stops at around 7:00AM PST on Wednesday, March 2nd. Conveniently enough, Game Developers Conference begins on the 28th of this month and would tie-in nicely for a Modern Warfare 3 reveal. Of course, this is all speculation as we have no official word from Activision as to how or when they plan on revealing this year's Call of Duty title.

We'll be on hand at Game Developers Conference in San Francisco for any and all Modern Warfare 3 events, so definitely check back with us here and follow us on Twitter for the latest intel on Black Ops and all things Call of Duty.
